This terms and conditions document governs the use of Gates Online service (the Service) including shopping and participation in promotions run by Gates Online. The Gates Online website is owned by Urban Group (NZ) Limited(and operated by Urban Group (NZ) Limited). Gates Online is exclusively licensed to use and operate under the brand Gates Online by the trade mark owner, Urban Group (NZ) Limited.
Acceptance of Terms & Conditions
By accessing, browsing or using this site, you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions, as well as any relevant disclaimers contained herein. Further, by continuing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these terms and conditions. By purchasing a product from this website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Urban Group reserves the right to change any or all of the information contained herein at any time and you should constantly check the current terms and conditions. Urban Group reserves the right to refuse service, terminate accounts, remove or edit content or cancel orders at their sole discretion. Any orders cancelled by Urban Group, but paid for, will receive a full refund.
All prices are shown in New Zealand dollars (NZ$) and include GST (which is currently 15% sales tax – if the GST rate changes we reserve the right to immediately amend our prices accordingly). All prices are correct at time of publication, however we reserve the right to alter prices for any reason. If this should happen after you have ordered a product, we will contact you prior to processing your order.

In reality, a commerce transaction on the Internet is significantly more secure than a similar telephone transaction or handing your credit card over the counter in a store. We are not responsible for any typographical errors or inaccuracies set forth in this website. The information, prices and discounts set forth herein are subject to change without notice. If there are any changes after you have ordered a product, we will contact you prior to processing your order.

Only individuals who can make legally binding contracts may purchase goods and services from this site. Urban Group cannot guarantee that it will notice or be able to prevent any illegal or inappropriate use of this website, nor can Urban Group guarantee that it will give notice of any illegal or inappropriate use of this website.

By placing an order on this website you agree to, and accept the terms and price specified in this website. This price may include additional delivery and other applicable charges. This offer may be accepted or rejected by Gates Online for any reason, including, the unavailability of any product, an error in the price or the product description posted on this website, or an error in your order. Your contract with Gates Online will only come into existence when you have fully paid for your order and Gates Online provides confirmation that your order has been accepted. Confirmation will be sent via email to your elected email address.
Fraud Protection Program
As part of our order processing procedures, we screen all received orders for fraud or other types of unauthorized or illegal activity. We reserve the right to refuse to process an order due to suspected fraud or unauthorized or illegal activity. If such is the case, we may reject your order or Customer Services may call you at the phone number you provided to confirm your order. We also reserve the right to cancel any accounts or refuse to ship to certain addresses due to suspected fraud or unauthorized or illegal activity. We take these measures to protect our customers as well as ourselves from fraud or other unauthorized or illegal activity.
Urban Group will retain ownership of the products you order until you have made payment in full for those products, but all risk in the products will pass to you on dispatch from the Gates Online retail store or supplier which is supplying your order.
Loss or Damage in Transit
Urban Group and Gates Online will take every care in packing and dispatching your purchase but is not responsible to the buyer or any person claiming through the buyer for any loss or damage to goods or products caused by any event of any kind by any person, whether or not Urban Group and Gates Online is legally responsible for the person who caused or contributed to that loss. Urban Group and Gates Online are not responsible for any loss of items that are wrongfully signed for and accepted by a third party.
Exclusion of Negligence
Gates Online is not liable to the buyer in contract or in tort arising out of, or in connection with, or relating to:
- the performance of the product;
- any fact, matter or thing relating to the products; or
- any error in information supplied to the buyer or a user at or after the date of the purchaser’s or user’s use of the product.
Delivery times given on this website are indicative only. Your order will be dispatched from the Gates Online warehouse located nearest to you provided they have the items to fulfil your order in stock. If they do not we will endeavour to source your order from one of our other stores. Gates Online will not be liable for any failure to observe these delivery times but will try and contact you by phone or email if any late deliveries are anticipated. You understand and agree that you shall not be entitled to withdraw or modify any commitment made for the purchase of products from this website once that commitment has been made for any reason, including without limitation, due to any delay in delivery.
If however, delivery has not happened after 30 days from the indicative delivery date, the buyer may, at their election, treat the failure to deliver as a terminating contractual event. In such an event Gates Online will refund any payment made to it in respect of that particular order.
If Gates Online is unable to source the particular product you require, Gates Online will contact you, the buyer, and inform you of the general date of availability. If you, the buyer, are unhappy with that, Gates Online will provide a refund of the money paid for that order.
Returns Policy for Website Purchases
We guarantee a money back refund if you are not 100% happy with your online purchase. Products will need to be returned to the Gates Online warehouse from which they were purchased, in their original condition and packaging and with Gates Online’s packing slip. Notification of a return needs to be made to the Gates Online store from which it was supplied within 5 days of receipt by you.
Once we have received the goods and ascertained that they, and their packaging are still in a condition that they can be resold for full original retail price, you will receive a full refund less any courier and packaging charges. Any courier costs you incur to return product to us will not be refunded unless we have made an error. Courier costs are generally non refundable for undelivered, unclaimed or returned packages unless we have made an error.
We regret we cannot offer a refund or exchange for any products listed on the site https://gatesonline.co.nz once the product has been used or tampered with, or if the packaging has been damaged to the extent that the item is no longer saleable for its original full price.
If you are in any doubt about an item you are considering purchasing online with us, then we strongly recommend that you call us first during business hours.
If there is any defect in the product on receipt, once opened, then it may be returned to us for exchange or a refund at that time.
Please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org and we will inform you of what needs to be done to arrange the refund. You must make notification to them within 5 days of receipt.
Your ability to purchase products and services from this website may be terminated at any time by Gates Online without notice. All disclaimers and limitations of liability by Gates Online will survive termination. Should you object to any of these terms & conditions, including any subsequent amendments, you must immediately discontinue use of this site.
While Gates Online has endeavoured to display accurately the colours of products, the actual colours you see will depend on your monitor and may not be accurate.
Gates Online and its suppliers attempt to be as accurate as possible in describing products detailed on the site https://gatesonline.co.nz. However, Gates Online does not warrant that product descriptions or other content of this site is accurate, complete, reliable, current, or error-free. If a product offered by Gates Online itself is not as described, your sole remedy is to return it in an unused condition, in original packaging, for refund of the purchase price. The cost to return courier these products to us will be at your expense.

Gates Online reserves the right to change any advertised price before accepting an order. All products are subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. If we are unable to fulfill your order, you will be offered an alternative or given a refund for the unavailable product.

Christmas Delivery Expectancy
Online orders placed on or before the 10th of December can be expected to arrive before Christmas Day. However, any orders placed after this date may be subject to arriving later. Please bear this in mind when ordering from our online shop.
